1 Week

I can't believe a whole week has passed already! But here we are 1 week later and everything is going really well! He is such a good baby, we couldn't ask for anything more. He sleeps like a champ and is eating well too. The only time he really gets upset is when we take his clothes off and change his diaper.

I am really enjoying Kenton as well. With Ella, it took me a while to feel connected with her. Sure I loved her, but it was a few weeks before I felt comfortable with her and really started to like her. But this time around I have loved Kenton every minute and have enjoyed taking care of him. I am so much more relaxed this time around. And I know how quickly they grow and change. I want him to stay like this forever!

A few things about Kenton:

* He has been sleeping so well at night, he will sleep 4-5 hours at a time! One night we actually woke him up just to make sure he was OK!

*He sounds like a monkey when he cries! He makes this little "ah ah ah ah ah" sound that reminds me of a monkey :)

*The only time he gets really upset is when we have to change his diaper. From day one, he has not liked it. Other than that he doesn't cry much. Even when he gets hungry. Of course we stay on top of his feedings!

*He goes through more outfits than Ella did! She usually only needed one outfit each day. He goes through numerous changes each day & night! But that's OK because he has lots of cute clothes :)

*I have lost count how many times we've been peed on! And it usually happens right after we have cleaned him up and started to put on his new diaper. And the first day he was home, the poor thing peed over his own face!

*He was 8 lbs, 3 oz when he was born. His weight at his first doctor's visit last Friday was 7 lbs 12 oz. We take him back for another check up in 2 weeks.

That's pretty much all he does now. And I'm loving every minute of it. My biggest challenge has been trying to heal from my surgery. I had my staples taken out last Friday and was feeling pretty good Saturday and so I probably did too much. Yesterday & today I have been trying to rest more. Thank goodness for my mom! She has been cleaning, cooking and running up & down the stairs for me. The good news is I'm not in any pain, and I've stopped taking my pain medication.

So now I will just have to adjust to taking care of two kids. My mom will be here for 2 more weeks, then I'm on my own! I know things will go smoothly, especially now that Ella is interacting more with Kenton. But it will be different. No more going out at the last minute! I will have to plan my trips out. But I did it with Ella and I can do it again!
